The objectives of laboratory diagnosis includenot only studying of already known indicators of thrombovascularhemostasis and standard coagulation tests but alsodeveloping, automating, and improving of new methods for detectionof biomarkers of hemostasis disturbances. According tothe results of modern research, a high level of the subpopulationof procoagulant or coated platelets, known as COAT-platelets, inpatient blood can be considered as this new marker for predictingthrombosis. COAT-platelets are a subpopulation of collagen andthrombin-activated platelets maintaining a high procoagulantactivity of blood.</p>
